Weekly Update Nov. 11-15,2019

Important information: Please be sure to return only the envelope, with your signature, from your child’s report card. It would be helpful to have the signed envelopes back by Friday, Nov. 15th.

Friday will be a paid dress down day. A donation of a dollar will permit your child to wear a Spartan t-shirt with jeans or sweatpants.

We are not beginning a new story this week, so there will not be a new spelling list tonight. Continue to practice reading the H.F.W. list each night. (Blue notebook) Also, there may be some leveled reading books coming home for extra practice with your child. These books are intended to give your child more practice on their current success level. Five minutes of reading usually will be all that they need. Contact me if you have any questions.

We are working on addition and subtraction with Fact Families, in Unit 3, which we began today. We are continuing on our goal of sums to 20 in spring math! I think we may reach our goal by the end of this week. The new goal will be fact families which will work nicely with our daily math class.

I’m looking for parent volunteers (with PTO clearances) to help make gingerbread/cinnamon ornaments on Fri., Dec.6th and Mon., Dec. 9th. On Friday we will mix, roll out and cut-out the ornaments. They will dry over the weekend and on Monday we decorate them. If you can only make one of the days that’s fine. I would need you in my classroom for 1:30 for each day. If you think you can make it, send me a note.
