Weekly Update Nov. 4-8,2019

Important information: Report cards will be coming home in the Friday Folder. Please make sure you sign and return the envelope that the report card came in, the card is yours to keep. There will be a paid dress down day this Friday. Now that the clocks have turned back, students are no longer permitted to wear shorts to school, not even for physical education class.

Please help your child find a favorite book to bring to school. This is going to be part of our Thankful for our Books Bulletin Board. The book should be familiar, so they can write at least one sentence as to what made it a favorite story for them. It would also be helpful if you could send the book into school for a few days. Please have their name inside in case there are duplicates.

We are beginning a new story this week, so there will be a new spelling list tonight. Check for corrections, and have your child write them 3 times each night, until the test on Friday. Continue to practice reading the H.F.W. list each night. (Blue notebook) Also, there may be some leveled reading books coming home for extra practice with your child. These books are intended to give your child more practice on their current success level. Five minutes of reading usually will be all that they need. Contact me if you have any questions.

We are continuing to work on addition sums to 10, for Unit 2, our test should be the end of this week. We have met our subtraction goal in spring math! We are now on our new goal of sums to 20! The children are doing such a wonderful job with these math facts! I’m so proud of them!
