Weekly Update Oct.28-Nov. 1,2019
Important information: The Halloween Party will be on Thursday. Please send your child’s costume to school in a bag, with their name on the outside of the bag. Do not send in anything that resembles a weapon, and they may not come to school with face make-up on or wigs. The party does not begin until 1:00 and we will be following a regular class schedule for the morning. The children should be dressed in regular school dress code for the morning.

Trunk or Treat will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29th, in the high school parking lot. It sounds like a lot of fun for both kiddos and adults. There will be treats, face painting, games and food trucks for the extra hungry!

We are not beginning a new story this week, so there will not be a new spelling list tonight. Continue to practice reading the H.F.W. list each night. (Blue notebook) Also, there may be some leveled reading books coming home for extra practice with your child. These books are intended to give your child more practice on their current success level. Five minutes of reading usually will be all that they need. Contact me if you have any questions.

We are continuing to work on addition sums to 10, for Unit 2. In spring math, our focus is subtraction from 5. The children are doing such a wonderful job with these math facts! I’m so proud of them!

Monday (Day 4) Art class; Study the H.F.W., ask about the science activity we did today

We are continuing Unit 2 in math which is working on addition sums to 10. Use the spring math sheets, that come home in the Friday Folder, as extra practice. You can make-up worksheets using those facts and time your child for two minutes, just like we do in class. It’s quick and they really enjoy trying to beat the clock.

I’ll be contacting the parents/guardians on my PTO approved list this week, to find out if anyone will be available next Friday afternoon (October 25th) to help with a project. I have all the supplies; I just need 4 individuals to guide the children through some estimating activities involving their own personal pumpkin. The approximate time is from 1:30 until dismissal.
