Weekly Update Nov. 25-29,2019
Important information:
We are not beginning a new story this week, so there will not be a new spelling list tonight. Continue to practice reading the H.F.W. list each night. (Blue notebook) Also, there may be some leveled reading books coming home for extra practice with your child. These books are intended to give your child more practice on their current success level. Five minutes of reading usually will be all that they need. Contact me if you have any questions.

We are working on addition and subtraction with Fact Families, in Unit 3. We will continue to work on subtraction from 9 in spring math.

*2 reposts below but important:
I have two volunteers for the cinnamon ornament project for Friday, Dec. 6th. I would like to have one more if anyone is still considering it. Plus, there is only one for Mon., Dec. 9th. Send a note if you can make it for either day or both. (1:30-3:00)

When we begin December, we will be discussing folk tales. We will be focusing on The Gingerbread Man. If you have any copies at home that we may borrow, for about two weeks, that would be great! Don’t send them in until after the Thanksgiving Break. It’s ok if they have been loved so much that they are tattered or drawn in, as long as you are able to read the words.

Monday (Day 7) Music class; practice reading the H.F.W., have your child read to you

Tuesday (Day 8) Art class; read the H.F.W., have your child read to you

Wednesday (Day) Non-rotation day; Veterans Day Celebration and early dismissal

Thursday (Day) Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday (Day) Practice reading over the weekend and practice sub. from 9
*Please check the Friday Folder for important papers to keep; then sign and date the front sheet of the folder. Send the folder back to class the next school day.

I hope everyone has a Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends!
